PYBphy International Bursaries

PYBphy bursaries are awards funded by PYBphy to help MSc and PhD students, and early-career researchers (5 years after PhD conclusion) from outside the host country to participate in the BIOPHYSICS FESTIVAL 2024 to be held in Covilhã, Portugal.

 

PYBphy will support 5 bursaries of €100 each. Note that it is mandatory to submit an abstract to be

eligible!


Please check the eligibility criteria below carefully. PYBphy bursaries are not available to
students/postdocs resident in Portugal.

Eligibility criteria

PYBphy bursary applicants must:
• Submit an abstract to the BIOPHYSICS FESTIVAL as first author
• Give proof of being a MSc or PhD student or postdoctoral researcher with no more than 5 years after receiving a PhD
• Be a member of a National Biophysics Society
• Be travelling from outside Portugal


How to apply

Applications for PYBphy bursaries for the BIOPHYSICS FESTIVAL must be made by email to pybphy2022@gmail.com with CC to portuguese.biophysical.society@gmail.com before the bursary deadline of March 29, 2024.


Please send/upload the following documents as a single pdf file with your application:
• Proof of Status: MSc or PhD student or postdoctoral scientist within 5 years of receiving a PhD
• Proof of membership (certificate/letter, dated within the present year, from your national Biophysics Society)

• Curriculum Vitae, no more than two A4 pages
• Submit your abstract as first author, using the template available in the registration form.

 

The awardees must pay the registration fee within one week after being granted the bursary (March 20, 2024). If not, the bursary will be granted to another candidate.

Assessment and notification


Abstracts and CVs of eligible bursary applicants will be considered by the Bursary Committee.
Awardees of the PYBphy bursary applications will be notified via e-mail on April 12,2024.

Awarded students should write a brief report for IUPAB (not more than 200 words) explaining the interest for himself/herself of the event and with a picture of themselves attached to then be published in the web and/or in IUPAB News.
